David Cage and Quantic Dream's game for the PC. Commercially successful and highly rated, the creation of which involved famous actors to give maximum realism of emotions and movements.
Detroit: Become Human for Windows is a computer game with a branched out plot, where the slightest actions of the player change the fate of the characters, and the realistic graphics and acting can take you into the story and make you empathize.
The game was originally released in 2018 for PlayStation 4 and received a high rating. Already at the end of 2019 released for PC. When creating the game, motion capture technology was used and more than 250 actors were involved, which allowed for this result: the maximum realism of the characters' movements.
According to the plot, Detroit, as a technologically advanced city, in the very near future is flooded with humanoid robots androids, which, either by malice or as a result of a program failure realize themselves to be human. The player will play as three main characters: Carew, Marcus and Connor. Each character has his own branching storyline, which can change from different actions and dialogues and literally depends on the player's decisions. This is what maximizes your involvement in the game: a huge variation of events, realistic graphics and character movement, and a story that evokes emotional empathy for robot characters endowed with human traits and provides references to real human history and its grim pages. It is the references to history and the sagging plot that critics believe makes the game weak, but reviews and ratings say otherwise. Moreover, it has become the most commercially successful game by Quantic Dream.
Humanity is on the brink of a global crisis in its not too distant future due to resource depletion and overpopulation. And in Detroit, robots are being developed to help humans. The main playable characters are Kara, a domestic robot in the home of the unemployed Todd, Marcus, a guardian robot for the successful artist Manfred, who is unable to walk, and Connor, an android policeman called to investigate deviant robot behavior. In the course of the game, Kara rescues Alice, Todd's daughter, who also happens to be an android, and together they try to escape and flee to Canada. Along the way, they may be killed several times, separated, or they may be reprogrammed, which amounts to death. Connor, can follow the line of behavior of a robot, flawlessly doing the master's will, or become a deviant and take part in robot liberation. Connor becomes the leader of the rebel movement and can influence the formation of public opinion on the issue of deviants.
