Mass Effect 2 for Windows is a computer game in the Action/RPG genre. It was created by BioWare in 2010 and is a sequel to Mass Effect 1, which was released in 2007.

The story, gameplay and system requirements

The storyline continues the story that was started in the first part. The developers even allowed to transfer the save line from the first game, that affects the storyline of the second one. The action takes place in the 22nd century, when the mankind entered the space and met the representatives of other civilizations. But all of them are under the threat of the invasion of an ancient race of Reapers that want to destroy all living things in the universe. The protagonist of Mass Effect 2 - the officer of Earth space fleet captain Shepard - together with his team of comrades tries to stop the invasion.

The gameplay is a combination of RPG and third-person shooter. Before starting the campaign, the player customizes his character's parameters by choosing his gender, appearance, class (one of six) and starting skills. If the player has a save from the first part, he will be able to load the character with the ready characteristics. During the passage of Mass Effect 2 the player performs various quests, interacts with NPC, collects resources, fights with enemies, gets experience points for the pumping of the character, improves weapons and equipment. In dialogues you can choose different answers, creating the reputation of a noble or cynical hero for your character. Also the choice of lines affects the relations of the protagonist with his comrades and as a result - the plot of the game. Between missions Captain Shepard is aboard the "Normandy" spaceship, where he can communicate with his teammates, choose and upgrade his weapons and decide which planet his spaceship will move to.

The combat system of Mass Effect 2 is a third-person shooter. The player along with his partners (you can choose no more than two per mission) fights the enemies, using mainly futuristic small arms, as well as special abilities. Partners are controlled by artificial intelligence, but it is possible to give them orders. There is also a tactical pause mode, during which you can give commands or change weapons.

Minimum system requirements: 1.8 GHz processor, 1 GB of RAM, 256 MB video card, 15 GB of free disk space. Recommended - 2.6 GHz processor, 2 GB RAM, 512 MB video card.
