More about Starcraft 2

Starcraft 2 is an RTS computer game for Windows. It was released by Blizzard Entertainment in 1998 and is a development of Starcraft 1, published in 1998.

Gameplay, story, and system requirements

The gameplay of the game is generally typical of RTS games. Players fight on the map, where they need to build buildings, extract resources, produce different types of units and destroy the enemy. The game is set in the distant future, when humanity stepped into space and faced with alien races. There are three races in the game: terrans (humans), protoss (an ancient race with high technology and psionic abilities) and zerg (an insect-like race of creatures that have no technology but use biotechnology). Just like in the first part of the game, the races differ not only in the appearance of the units, but also in their characteristics, so each race uses its own strategy. At the same time, no one race is stronger than the other. Compared with the first part of the game, new units have been added, including air units.

The plot of the game continues the plot of Starcraft 1. The three races then fight, then cooperate with each other in the fight for control of the planets. The campaign is one, only for humans, but there are several missions for protoss. The campaign has elements of role-playing: there is an opportunity to perform additional tasks, for which points are given to access improvements, sometimes it is offered to choose in favor of this or that warring party, which depends on the composition of the companions of the protagonist.

In addition to the campaign, the game has individual missions ("trials"), for which achievements are given. There is also a multiplayer, almost unchanged since Starcraft 1. And according to the developers, Starcraft 2 was created primarily as a multiplayer.

The minimum system requirements - 2.6 GHz processor, 1 GB of RAM, a video card with 128 MB memory, 12 GB of free disk space. Recommended - 2.4 GHz processor, 2 GB of RAM, 1 GB of video card.

Although Starcraft 2 received more restrained reviews than the first part, in general, respected gaming publications recognized it as a great success.
