Beware to Windows

The game is in an extremely short format - and it is unknown whether it will work in a long format, but it is still an interesting, distinctive experience. The duration is just such that the new combination of mechanics is explored by the player sufficiently, but does not have time to get bored. Over the course of the playthrough, the player will have to visit several atmospheric locations while trying to escape a chase that four strange creatures in another car have set up for the character.

Advantages of the game:

• A truly original concept. It's very hard to come up with something groundbreaking these days, especially in a genre as well-rounded as horror.
• Technical Combination. Some ideas are very good on paper, but in fact can't be implemented in any way - this didn't happen with Beware. The project has a great combination of both racing and horror elements.
• Good visuals. For a small demo project Beware has a very nice picture. As the action takes place at night, the environment plays with shadows and scares with unexpected appearances of enemies and other screamers.
• Great sound. Sound is very important in horror movies and here it is implemented at a very high level. It is the correct sound environment that makes the horror realistic and truly frightening.
• Quality intrigue. Thanks to the suspense and the complete helplessness of the player and the character in front of the deep night and the fact of persecution in the background narrative creates the necessary tension. The author has succeeded in making the player feel uncomfortable as he moves, whether enemies are visible or not.

The only thing that spoils Beware a bit is its imperfect physics, which is a problem with many small indie projects. The most important aspect of the gameplay is the car controls, which are sometimes too abrupt and out of control.

But since the game does not last long, offers a completely unique experience and does not have time to get bored, it is quite forgivable. The technical flaws look like another obstacle that prevents the protagonist from getting away from the chase. The answers to the many questions that are sure to appear to the player after the passage is not formalized - there is something to think about.

You should play Beware if you:

• love unconventional combinations of genres;
• have a special fondness for the horror genre, but have already tried everything possible and want a unique experience;
• are interested in the work of lesser-known talented developers;
• prefer adrenaline-pumping, fast-paced, reaction-driven horror games;
• don't necessarily expect a complex and question-answerable story.
