Dota 2 can be treated in different ways. Someone in principle dislikes MOUA, because they do not like the genre, despite the quality, but the project has an active and constantly updated audience - this suggests that the bar of quality over the years has not only fallen, but also risen.

More about Dota 2

The history of the project is remarkable. Like many great things, Dota 2 was not created on purpose - the game is just an extended version of the map for Warcraft, made by enthusiasts. No one could have guessed that this experiment in the direction of an online game for teams would give rise to a new genre.

Dota 2 opened up the gaming industry to MOBA, one of the most popular trends in video game creation. Despite the fact that "shoot" only a few such projects, they are very long - at the expense of the "conditionally-free" system, constant updates and rebalance. Dota 2 is a reference example of such a long-lasting game that stands firmly on the fanbase. Many projects have tried to reach its level, but only its eternal younger rival - League of Legends. There are several reasons for this.

Advantages of the project:

  • Pioneer status and at the expense of this - thoughtful and unique mechanics. Despite the apparent simplicity and confusion, Dota 2 is a fairly complex tactical game. If you have any kind of cohesive team playing against you, you will not defeat them by attacking chaotically. It will take concentration and focus to play, and it will take months and years of experience to win.
  • A huge amount of content. Obviously, Dota 2 brings a lot of money and the developers are doing everything they can to keep its community happy. Players are listened to, the balance is corrected regularly - a serious attitude because of the cybersport, they add new heroes and skins.
    Donat, which does no harm. You can play for free - expensive items that decorate your character, give extra bonuses and just make you stand out from the crowd. They can safely ignore if you're not interested in advanced customization for money.
  • You can make money on the game. Dota 2 is hosted on Steam, which has an internal trading system. You can knock out certain things (skins, etc.) and then sell them to other players, getting real money, not in-game bonuses. Although you will not be able to withdraw them from your Steam wallet (at least legally).
  • High level of teamwork. Dota 2 is really a team game. The project has every opportunity to play in co-op with your friends or random partners and not just be together on the same map.

Competing with Dota 2 is difficult - almost impossible. Despite the fact that the game constantly receives a lot of criticism for outside factors - toxic audience in places and petty scandals around updates, the root quality is at a very high level. In terms of gameplay, Dota 2 is the benchmark MOBA, which is what draws millions of players to it even eight years after its release.

You should play Dota 2 if you:

  • love team games - there are hundreds and thousands of tactics for a group of players to implement in this project;
  • Want to see where the MOBA genre began;
  • are interested in the elaborate world and lore of the project;
  • would like to participate in cyber-sports competitions of any level;
  • do not mind earning by selling items in the game;
  • want a game for which you can spend evenings without much involvement - the average session lasts no more than 15 minutes.

If you're interested in the MOBA genre in principle, then Dota 2 is a great place to start.
