Total Commander to Windows

The Total Commander utility has a wide range of functionality, which can be further expanded by a multitude of plugins. In addition to them, the program includes a whole set of useful tools for processing archives, copying, moving and deleting trees, drag-and-drop support, and much more.

Navigation through the file system in the presented utility is carried out through 2 panels, designed in the form of windows. The transition from one directory to another is easily understandable. Moving to another disk or network connection is performed in the top menu of the application.

To change the default file viewing mode to thumbnail or tree-like form, simply click on the selected panel.

The most important file operations are performed using buttons located at the bottom of Total Commander. These buttons allow you to edit and view files, or perform a number of operations on directories.

The built-in file viewer becomes available after clicking the "View" button. It works not only with text, but also with multimedia files.

The "Copy" and "Move" buttons allow you to perform the specified operations from one panel to another.

To select multiple files at once by their name or extension, click the "Selection" button. And after selecting, you can perform any of the actions mentioned earlier on these files.

Inside the application, there is a built-in file archiver that supports working with the most popular formats (ZIP, RAR, etc.). If desired, new formats can be added through the plugin system.

Another interesting feature of the product is the ability to change file attributes, which can be done using the corresponding item in the "File" menu. Attributes allow you to set or remove write protection, allow reading of certain files, etc.

As mentioned above, the application has a built-in FTP client that allows you to upload or transfer necessary files to a remote server.

A multitude of specially designed plugins significantly expand the capabilities of the product. In general, they can be divided into several groups:

• plugins for the internal file viewer program, file system, and quick search;
• archival and informational plugins.

So, Total Commander is a very powerful, functional, and at the same time, convenient and easy-to-use file manager. It has many advantages, making it the undisputed leader compared to similar programs.
