More about Microsoft Office 2016

The development of the kit itself began back in 2014, immediately after the release of the standard Microsoft Service Pack patch (intended for MS Office 2013). In May 2015, users were able to download the "early access" version, which was distributed by the company both through the Microsoft site itself and through the accounts of users of the Office 365 online system. An interesting fact is that Office 365 subscribers and owners of the previous version of the Office suite got a free upgrade to the next, edition number 16. Also, Microsoft Office 2016 was the latest bundle to support running on Windows 7 as well as Windows 8.1 operating systems. The next version, Office 19, works only with the Windows 10 operating system.

Features

Microsoft has refused to experiment with editions (as was the case with Office 2013). The set was published in five editions - they differ in the set of features provided, the target audience and, accordingly, the cost. The editions are divided into versions for corporate and home use. The basic "For Home and Study" set comes with four basic programs - Word (a multifunctional text editor), PowerPoint (a tool for creating slide shows and presentations), OneNote (a diary program) and Excel (a spreadsheet tool).

  • "For Home and Business" - the suite also includes the Outlook e-mail application: this gives entrepreneurs and employees of small firms the ability to work with the suite.
  • "Standard" - it is supplemented with Publisher program and also has the "VL" (Volume License) label, which makes the edition a set for corporate clients.
  • "Professional" - Microsoft Access is additionally added to the bundle.
  • "Professional Plus" - VL edition of the "Professional" package, supplemented by a business version of the Skype application (means for video calls and audio calls, as well as messaging).

Thus, Microsoft Office 2016 is a complete toolkit for working with different file formats: the package allows you to create texts, presentations, tables, diaries, as well as use interactive calendar and business email. Microsoft Office 2016 is unparalleled in its kind: so far, no other set of office applications has been able to accommodate such extensive functionality.
