Risen to Windows

Many people call Risen Gothic 4 and there's a lot of truth in it. The main character is a character about whose past little is known, which is typical for all previous parts of Gothic. Events take place on a separate island, which is isolated from the rest of the world, where the protagonist comes after the shipwreck (the ship on which the protagonist is attacked by Titan).

On this island there is a considerable number of predatory beasts bearing a great danger. There are also two opposing factions: wizards and bandits.

From all this we can say that Risen looks a lot like Gothic games.

Graphics and World

The graphics of Risen is really amazing, in this sense it is even a little bit better than Gothic 3. The level of details and the quality of special effects is at the high level of its time. That's why it is also pleasant to play Risen visually. The world is quite beautiful, it has a lot of different landscapes that literally take your breath away. That's why it will be a pleasure to wander around this world and see what is going on there.

As for the shortcomings in terms of graphics, they are mainly not significant, they can include a fairly homogeneous characters faces and almost no facial expressions.

Quests, Character Development, Items, Enemies

In Risen the player becomes a defender of peasants, that suffer from the antagonism of bandits and wizards. Therefore most of the quests here are of the corresponding type. For example, the player will need to protect the crops of the peasants, hunt animals, go to the forest for mushrooms, berries and other important resources for the survival of the peasants.

An important feature is the freedom of action in many quests. One and the same task can be completed in different ways. Here much depends on personal preferences of the player.

As for the items in the game loot in more than enough. It pleases with its variety, which allows you to equip your character with different items, thereby improving its characteristics and develop certain skills.

Enemies are also plentiful. The island is inhabited by all kinds of predatory animals, giant insects and other representatives of local bestiary. That's why the player won't get bored, he'll regularly fight various enemies, thus increasing his own level and getting stronger.

In general the island of Risen is smaller than in Gothic 3, but it's very rich with different events, so there's always something to do.
