Plague Inc is a mobile game for Android, where the player's goal is to infect the entire population of the Earth with a previously unknown disease. He chooses a hotbed of infection and further controls its spread, trying to cover as much territory and crowds of people as possible. His opponents are scientists trying to stop and stop this pandemic.
The main feature of Plague Inc is that the spread of the disease is based on a real scenario, developed by scientists for similar situations based on the study of epidemics and pandemics of the past. Therefore, the course of the game will largely depend on the selected focus of the disease: a metropolis or a small village, a tourist center or a closed territory, etc. A clever algorithm takes this into account as well.
The player's task is to spread the disease throughout the world and kill humanity. He is opposed by scientists trying to invent a cure, cure the sick, and save the world.
The disease can not only spread, but also mutate. There are two ways: controlled and uncontrolled spread. In the first case, the player can set the direction of infections, create mutations (for example, the infected will become zombies or vampires, you can add a fungus to the virus, etc.). This is created with various combos, which can be collected if you have enough DNA points (they are issued for successful infectivity growth). In the second case, the virus acts "as is", i.e. naturally: mutations also occur, but as a result of a combination of random factors.
The player sees all the statistics: the number of diseased, cured and dead, the rate of growth of the disease and other factors. This helps him navigate the situation and take action if there is a risk of stopping the pandemic, i.e., losing.
The rules are simple: if the user succeeded in destroying humanity, he won. If the pandemic was prevented, however, it counts as a loss.
Plague Inc. is a good way to fight with mankind not in fighting games, shooters and wars, but strategically: thinking over your actions, evaluating the efficiency of certain tactics, trying to outwit your opponent (i.e. scientists). In addition, the game can be played many times, experimenting with where to activate "patient zero" and seeing how things are different each time.
