More about Ascension

The renewal of the KKI trend was a real treat for fans of board card games. New bars of the genre appeared, and the best games in it were revived in their updated versions. And despite the fact that Ascension fans have been quietly playing it since 2011, the game has been severely lacking in popularity. With the remake and a new spin on the genre, it has arrived - and it turns out that classic Ascension is just as good as modern projects.

Advantages of the project:

  • Fair play and excellent difficulty balance. Ascension does not lend itself to the player, but the entry threshold is average - a beginner will not encounter insurmountable obstacles like a huge number of mechanics at the start and low quality training.
  • Excellent visuals. Visuals have always been important in a CCI, but not in the usual sense of graphic quality, namely the design of maps and environments. Ascension has no problems with this - the game can surprise even the most experienced fan of board games with similar fantasy design.
  • Lore and atmosphere. Ascension is a project with a story. The quality of its story campaign cannot be compared to the present-day games of the genre because of the difference in budgets, but the environment, the history of the world and the atmosphere in general make the world of the game alive and real.
  • Multiplayer Mode. Here you can compete with other players and the competition really takes it to the next level - a thoughtful rivalry between two equal players who happen to bump into each other in the picking process can culminate in an hour and a half of fascinating combat.
  • Unconventional gameplay. Matches in Ascension depend not only on the skill of the player, but also on luck, as the game gives out a limited set of cards that you have to work with - this motivates you to better explore the possibilities offered by the board game.

The project is not suitable for the game for a few minutes - to immerse yourself in it for the first time will require time (which will more than pay off later), as well as English at least a minimum level to understand the interface and the basic properties of the cards. Also, the game requires connecting to the network, even if you play solo - it is worth considering if there are problems with the network.

To play Ascension you'll have to put some efforts to get used to it, but you won't be disappointed - it's one of the most deep and thoughtful KKI on Android.

Also the multiplayer mode allows you to find a new game partner at any time you want - you just need to connect to the internet and wait, while the system selects your rival.

You should play Ascension if you:

  • love collectible card games as a genre;
  • missed the classic version of Ascension when it was released;
  • are looking for new representatives of the genre after you've passed all the famous titles;
  • like thoughtful, methodical strategy games where there's nowhere and no need to rush;
  • want to try to compete with other players online - a great option if you have no one to play board games in reality;
  • you prefer to really stretch your brain not to kill time while travelling and in queues.

Ascension as entertainment and simulator for board games lover won't suit everyone, but if you like it, be sure you will spend more than one hour of your free time playing it.
